Addressable Fire Alarm System, 1–4 Loops
in development.

Under development — specifications are design targets. Image shown is a design render, not a photo.

A complete addressable fire alarm system built around IDEAS’ own two-wire loop protocol. A control panel with a 7-inch colour touchscreen takes one to four loop controller cards; each card drives a Class A loop of up to 254 addressable devices — photoelectric smoke detectors, monitor modules for call points and switches, control modules for sounders and strobes, relay modules for plant shutdown, and short-circuit isolators. Every device takes power and data from the same pair. A fast event path reports the address and type of a new fire to the panel in about 15 ms, while a continuous supervision sweep checks every device for faults.

Addressable Fire Alarm System, 1–4 Loops
KEY FEATURES

What it does.

  • Panel with 1 to 4 loop controller cards — up to 1,016 addressable devices
  • 7-inch colour touchscreen showing alarms, faults, loop status and event history, with on-screen acknowledge, silence, reset and evacuate
  • Up to 254 addresses per loop, all device types in one address space
  • Two-wire loop carries both power and data; polarity-insensitive wiring
  • Class A (fed from both ends) and Class B wiring, up to 2 km of cable per loop
  • Fire address and type known at the panel in about 15 ms (worst case), well inside a 20 ms target
  • Fast event window plus group / member scanning — no waiting for a poll cycle
  • Supervision sweep of every device about every 1.6 s; a missing device is reported in about 5 s

  • Loop open, short, earth-fault, duplicate-address and wrong-device-type detection
  • Photoelectric smoke detector with drift compensation, dirty-chamber warning, pre-alarm and magnet test
  • Monitor, control (sounder / strobe) and relay modules with supervised inputs and outputs
  • Loop isolators limit any short to a segment of at most 32 devices
  • Addresses set over the loop with a hand-held programmer — no switches
  • Isolated RS-485 link from each loop card to the panel CPU
  • Surge and EMC protection on every loop terminal; designed to EN 54 / UL 864 requirements
