Kitchen Chimney Touch & Gesture Control
engineered end-to-end.
IDEAS designed the control electronics for an appliance manufacturer’s electric kitchen chimney. Capacitive touch keys sit behind the glass front panel, and a motion sensor lets the user switch the chimney or change fan speed with a wave of the hand — no touching the panel with wet or greasy hands. The controller drives the blower motor at multiple speeds, switches the LED lights and shows the selected speed on the display.

IN USE
Touch or wave — no greasy fingerprints.
The panel responds to a light touch on the glass, and a motion sensor lets the cook switch the chimney or change fan speed with a simple wave of the hand — ideal when hands are wet or greasy.
- Capacitive touch keys under seamless black glass — easy to wipe clean
- IR motion sensing for hands-free on/off and speed change
- Backlit key icons and segment display for fan speed and status
- Single connector to the chimney power board
